Sherrie Zaft Obituary
Sherrie Hirsch Zaft, 89 years old, passed away November 2, 2017 at Flower Hospital, Sylvania, OH. She was a graduate of the University of Toledo College of Education and had worked as a saleswoman in fashion jewelry at Jacobsons Department Store. Sherrie was a Past President and lifelong active member of the Sisterhood at Congregation B'Nai Israel.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Morton; parents, William and Rose Hirsch and sisters, Jean Liber and Thelma Robbins.
Surviving are her children, Caren Zaft, Sylvania, OH, Joel (Judy) Zaft, Phoenix, AZ, Jan Stefango, Holland, OH and Nancy (Stan) Byrd, Westerville, OH. Also surviving are seven grandchildren and their spouses; seven great-grandchildren; numerous cousins, nieces and nephews in the close-knit extended family.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, November 3 at 11 a.m. at the Robert H. Wick/Wisniewski Funeral Home, 2426 North Reynolds Rd. (419-535-5840). Interment Beth Shalom Cemetery, Oregon, OH. Following cemetery services the family will be receiving friends at the home of Cathy and Steve Sperling. Shiva visitation will continue Sunday and Monday from 2:00 until 5:30 p.m. with minyan at 5:00 p.m. at Jan Stefango's home in Holland, OH.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to Congregation B'Nai Israel or a charity of the donor's choice.

A loss of a lovely lady. Mrs. Zaft had an easy laugh and a great sense of humor. I feel lucky to have known her + know my friend Caren. My sentiments to all the Zafts, 7 great grandchildren is quite the legacy. Much love to you Caren, we have been friends for 30+ years. Sherrie was a wonderful life model.
