Stan W. Sterger, age 67, of Toledo, Ohio, passed away on April 30, 2023, with his family in his home under the care of ProMedica Hospice. He was a passionate astrologer and was well known within the community and the city of Toledo. Stan also enjoyed pottery, having made many pieces while a member at the Toledo Botanical Gardens. He was very kind and loving and will be deeply missed. Although Stan never had children of his own, his nieces, Sarah and Rachel, were the daughters he never had.
Stan was preceded in death by his father, Christopher Sterger; sister, Christy Sterger; and brother, Nicholas Sterger. Left to cherish his memories are his mother, Margaret (May) Sterger; nieces, Sarah (Keith) Simms and Rachel Portnoy; great-nieces and nephews, Kayla (Dallas) Kurth, Leah (Jake) Kurth, and Dalton Dempsey; great-great-nephew, Banks Gaston Steiner; special cousin, Lanny May; as well as numerous other cousins and friends.
The family will receive guests on Thursday, May 11, 2023, from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Newcomer Funeral Home â€" Northwest Chapel (419-473-0300), 4150 W. Laskey Rd, Toledo, Ohio, where a Memorial Service will begin at 6:30pm.
Those wishing to give a memorial contribution are asked to consider the Dana Cancer Center at U.T.M.C. or Stan's family.

Stan was a wonderful friend of mine. Just a very nice guy.We had long conversations and lots of laughs.Many fond memories. He will surely be missed but always remembered in my heart. Rest in peace my dear friend.
