Stephen PERRY Obituary

PERRY Stephen D. "Steve" Stephen D. "Steve" Perry, age 65, peacefully completed his journey on earth on February 28th, 2011 at Hospice of Northwest Ohio. He was born August 11th, 1945 in Massillon, OH to Red and Frances Perry. Steve was drafted into the Army just out of High School and proudly served his country as a radio operator in South Korea. After his service he eventually made his way to sales, a profession for which he had an amazing instinct and passion. Steve became a master salesman and negotiator, winning awards and consistently jumping to the top 5% of salesmen at any company he worked for. He also had a passion for cars, and working on them always gave him a deep sense of satisfaction. Steve truly loved the outdoors and was always looking forward to his next adventure. He enjoyed camping with his family and backpacking with his son and grandson. He was always ready to wet a line, ride a mountain bike, hike a trail, or discover what was around the next bend. He seemed happiest when he was deep in the wilderness, just enjoying the view. He experienced the outdoors with a sense of awe and respect that was infectious to everyone with him. Steve's positive attitude and optimistic outlook were irresistible and you couldn't help but be in a good mood when he was around. He always did his best and his positive expectations always inspired those around him to do the same. He was a loving father, amazing husband, and best friend to all who had the privilege of knowing him. He was always eager to lend a hand and would never consider accepting anything in return. Along with his loving wife Nora, he raised two children, Steve and Jenny, who are eternally grateful for all the guidance he provided. He is survived by his wife, Nora Perry; his son, Stephen (Rose) Perry and daughter, Jennifer (Steve) Swartz. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Rebecca and Grant Perry, Mia and Macie Swartz, his father-in-law, Richard Soukup and of course, his crazy cat, Lucy. Friends may call at the Reeb Funeral Home, 5712 N. Main St. Sylvania, OH, Monday morning from 9 until 10:30 AM. The Funeral Mass will begin at the St. Clement Catholic Church at 11 AM, and interment will follow at Toledo Memorial Park. Those wishing to give memorials are asked to consider the Toledo Humane Society.
