Stephen Tebbe Obituary

TEBBE
Stephen J.
Our Rock and Mentor

Stephen J. Tebbe, age 60, of Toledo, Ohio passed away Friday, March 17, 2017 at ST. Vincent Medical Center surrounded by his loving family. Steve was born on May 7, 1956 in Toledo, Ohio to Arthur and Donna Tebbe.
On March 11, 1978, Steve married the love of his life, Elizabeth A. (Dopfer), and together they would have three beautiful daughters, Marisa, Stephenie, and Heather, whom he truly adored. Steve was also blessed with four grandsons, Nicholas, Austyn, Ethan and Devin, and two granddaughters, Alivia and Ariana. Steve loved bragging about his children, and his grandchildren. He was the best daddy and papa in the whole world.
Steve was a self employed finish carpenter for most of his life. The last 17 years he subcontracted for James Moline Builders, and earned his reputation as the best finish carpenter in the Greater Toledo Area. An intricate part of his work life was his friend and brother, Dave. You could often find them working along side each other at job sites and having lunch together. Besides work, family was his life. His favorite thing to do was spend time with his family and friends, especially during the summer in his back yard having barbecues and playing Cornhole. Steve's other hobbies included fishing, camping, Nascar, and “Ohio State Football” (Go Bucks)!
Steve was always up for a joke or two, and would always be the first to laugh. He loved to mess around and tease others, especially his mother-in- law, Karleyne.
Steve was preceded in death by his parents; and brother, Scott. Steve is survived by his loving wife of 39 years, Elizabeth; children, Marisa, Stephenie (Chris), and Heather; grandchildren, Nicholas, Austyn, Ethan, Devin, Alivia, and Arianna; brother, David (Mary); sisters,
Marie (Horace), and Barbara (John); mother-in-law,
Karleyne Crooks; uncle,
Richard Schroeder; brothers-in-law, William (Julie), Norman (Susan), Carl
(Kim); sisters-in-law, Kathryn, Chandra; and many nieces and nephews. Steve was also survived by his loyal canine friend, Kain.
Visitation for Steve will be Tuesday, March 21, 2017 from 2:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at H.H. Birkenkamp Funeral Home located at 3219 Tremainsville Rd. Toledo, Ohio (at Alexis Rd.) So sorry to hear about Steve. I know I didn't know my half brother all that well, but I wish that I could be there with the rest of the family. Unfortunately I am unable to get away. My thoughts are with you all.
