Thomas Brighton Obituary
Thomas R Brighton, 67, of Sylvania, Ohio, passed peacefully after a hard-fought battle on 17 July 2022. He was born in Wyandotte, MI, on 26 September 1954 to Kenneth and Valerie Brighton. Tom graduated from Theodore Roosevelt High School; received a bachelor's at Western Michigan and Masters from Central Michigan. He was married to Kathy, 40 years. He is survived by his wife, Kathy; daughters, Allison (Christopher) Madyda and Jessica (Robert) Curtis; grandchildren, Samantha and Abigail Madyda, Mia and Grant Curtis; sisters and brother, Diane (Dennis) Weinman, Elizabeth (Mark) Jagos, and Todd Brighton; along with numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held 11 a.m. - 2 p.m. on 23 July, with a memorial service from 2 p.m. -3 p.m. at Reeb Funeral Home in Sylvania, Ohio. Reception to follow. Donations in his name can be gifted to Ebeid Hospice, St. Jude, and GO2 Foundation for Lung Cancer. On-line condolances may be left at

Our deepest condolences go out to Kathy, Allie, Jessie and their beautiful families. Tom and Kathy were the very first people we met when we moved from Chicago to Sylvania, right next door to the Brighton´s 30 years ago. We all had so much fun raising our kids together & weekly deck parties. We have always considered Tom and Kathy some of very dearest friends. Tom always had a huge smile and made us all laugh. Our hearts and prayers go out to everyone in the Brighton family. We are here for you any time you need some of your very dearest friends.
