Thomas Cook Obituary

Thomas Cook

It is with extreme sadness that we announce the passing of Thomas Martin Cook on May 14, 2024, at the age of 66. He was born on September 27, 1957, in Toledo, Ohio, to the late Louise and Dewey Cook.

Tommy loved to bowl, and he was in many leagues through the years, bowling in several different alleys. The one thing that remained constant , you could always find him at the scorekeeper's desk. He also liked to work on automobiles, and this would eventually lead him to become an ASE certified mechanic. In later years, he had a garage built so he could work at home. He was always willing to help anyone that needed it.

Tom went to work for B.G.S.U. in the Transportation Department. During his employment, he received many accolades, and was well liked and highly respected by students and facility alike. He will be sorely missed and remembered by the many lives he has touched.

Tom is survived by his son, Andrew; brothers, Doug, Randy (Jill), Mike, Terry, Brian (Karen), Gary, and Joel (Staci); sisters, Connie (Allen), Debbie (Dave), Sandy (Lonnie), Amy (Galen); and his life-long friend, Jim Meek.

A memorial service is planned for a later date. David R. Jasin-Hoening Funeral Home, Toledo, has been entrusted with arrangements. Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of the donor's choice. Online expressions of sympathy may be made by visiting

Tom it´s hard to believe that you´ve passed already! Your Son Andrew truly misses you, and Yes some nay sayers think that Andrew wasn´t your Son! But you loved him and raised him throughout his growing years, as your Son. Heck you were closer to Andrew than some of your bio. family. Thank you for that Tom! We´ll see you again! . Cathy Meek

I knew Tom as a good man and a loving father as well as a just and honest man, in all that he did. He wanted the best for his son and anyone around him. I wish I personally could have known him better. His son and his family are blessed to have had him in their lives.

As I sit here alone on a cool spring day, with my thoughts and memories racing through my mind of my little brother Tom. Remembering those visits to the amphitheater in Cleveland That you loved so much. Those long talks over my kitchen table You treated my family as if it was your own. The respect ,honesty and empathy you showed my daughters and son as well as others you truly earned their respect
. Having a friend for 55 years in Jim Meek says it all . It must of been a special kind of friendship. You will be missed but never ever forgotten. Thank you brother . God bless you May you rest in peace

Uncle Tommy will be deeply missed. I will always remember him giving my friends and I rides on the BGSU campus bus and telling us stories from his glory days. We always looked forward to those rides. As a family, my sister, dad, and I always looked forward to Uncle Tommy coming up for the Milan Melon Festival over Labor Day weekend. He enjoyed that time so much and always looked forward to Jimmys Famous Tacos. He will always be remembered and his memory will live on forever. We love you Uncle Tommy, rest in Heaven.

Love you always,
Your niece Michelle

A memory

We hold onto our memoriesu
The ones that are so dear
To try to keep you always close
Now that you are not here
You were called, it was your time
But it is so true
You have left a legacy
There was no one quite like you
You were very special
And we want to say
We feel lost in many ways
That you are not here today
But we will never forget you
For we know we were blessed
To have had you for our Brother
Because simply put "you were the best ". ....
RIP Dear Brother .. you will be missed.....
