Thomas E. Ray, Sr.

Thomas E. Ray, Sr., age 69, passed peacefully on Sunday, April 30, 2023. Tom was born June 24, 1953 in Toledo, OH, to John and Emma (Broshious) Ray. Tom was a 1971 graduate of Scott High School and retired in 2002 from Daimler Chrysler Jeep. Tom enjoyed spending his retirement with friends at Barbie's and summers at Leafy Oaks Campground raising money for service dogs for people in need. He loved spending weekend making Bloody Mary's and selling 50/50 tickets to raise funds. He was also a member of the Eagles and the VFW. Tom also loved spending time and playing cards with friends and family.

Tom is survived by his girlfriend, Kim Leisure; children, Tricia (Jeff) Anderson, Thomas Ray Jr., and Todd (Jodi) Ray; step-daughter, Mary (Aaron) Meade; grandchildren, Taylor, Kara, Jacob, Brianna, and Tommy Ray; great-grandchildren, Audrianne and Addilyn Rank; his siblings, Hank Gorski, Robert (Lesa) Ray, and Timothy (Sue) Ray; his beloved dog, Buttons; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; ex-wife, Beverly Ray; brothers, Edward Broshious, Albert Scheck, John Gorski, and David Ray.

Family and friends may visit the Freck Funeral Chapel, 1155 S. Wynn Rd in Oregon on Sunday, May 7, 2023 from 12:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. with the memorial service to be held at 4:00 p.m. Memorial contributions in his name may be made to 4 Paws for Ability, 207 Dayton Ave., Xenia, OH 45385 or Hospice of Northwest Ohio.
