Timothy Foster Obituary

Deacon Timothy Foster

Deacon Timothy Foster, age 70, was born March 25, 1955, in Toledo, Ohio, to Roosevelt and Willie Mae Foster. Timothy spent his entire life in Toledo, Ohio, where he was able to plant his roots and build a life for himself. Timothy accepted Christ at an early age with encouragement from his Christian parents, Deacon Roosevelt and Willie Mae Foster.

Timothy was the eldest of seven children. He had six sisters, Brenda Leake, Linda Fuller, Valerie (Gregory) Mathis, Verna Foster, Wanda Foster and Sandra (Doland) Brown. Timothy had a total of six children. He had the last three children with his late wife, Nancy (Finley) Foster. His children are, Tamika Foster, Keisha Ridley, Dawaun Clayborne, Timeel Foster, Shardae (Kenneth) James, and Krystale Foster. In 2004, Timothy married Shirley (Bunts) Foster. Through his union with Shirley, Tim gained two adult sons, Deon (Melissa) Bunts and David (Crystal) Bunts; two daughters-in-law; and several grandchildren. Timothy and Shirley were married until his untimely passing. Tim had a total of 29 grandkids and 4 great-grandkids.

Mr. Foster was a member of Grace Temple Church, under the leadership of Pastor Chester Trail. Tim was ordained as a Deacon at Grace Temple Church. Alongside his dad, Tim worked many years at General Motors. After 33 years of service, Tim retired. Throughout Tim's retirement, he tried out various jobs to stay active.

Tim enjoyed hanging out with his family, bowling, and riding through the city, listening to music. Tim also enjoyed spending afternoons at the senior center, playing games with the other seniors and working out. He was a speaker at a men's group on Thursdays.

Deacon Foster loved, with passion, all his immediate, extended, and church family. He also loved his many friends. We all loved him too and he is SORELY missed.

On the morning of August 28, 2025, Tim was pronounced dead, surrounded by his loving family. Tim is now with his son, Timeel Foster; mother, Willie Foster; father, Roosevelt Foster; niece, LaSondra Whorley; niece, Alexandria Fuller; mother-in-law, Ruthie Young; several aunts, uncles and cousins who are absent from their bodies and present with the Lord.

My condolences to all who knew and loved Deacon Timothy Foster. At the Hunt Senior Center we knew him as Tim and knew that he would always share his positive attitude with all he encountered. I had the privilege of bowling with him and other HSC members at the Timbers bowling alley in Maumee. He was always quick to offer a high-five, or encouragement, a real team member. May he Rest in Peace.
