Timothy Smith Obituary
Timothy D. "Tim" Smith, age 71, of Toledo, passed away on Saturday, August 25, 2018 in Zanesville, OH due to injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident. He was born on January 24, 1947 to Richard and Anna Mae (Walsh) Smith in Toledo. Tim was a graduate of Whitmer High School and for most of his life he was a skilled carpenter, having worked for Flower Hospital for over 30 years. Most recently he worked for Ondrus Hardware and was a member of the local Carpenter's Union. He was always willing to lend a helping hand to family and friends if they needed something built or repaired. When Tim wasn't working, he enjoyed traveling with his motor home, riding his motorcycle and his winter life in Largo, FL. He also enjoyed the camaraderie with his friends at VFW 2898, his Ondrus Hardware family and spending time with his brother, Tom.
Left to cherish his memory are his siblings, Delbert (Josie) Smith, Tom Smith and Lucille (Chuck) Hoffman; grandchildren, Sean Jr., Samuel, Skylar and Peyton; precious great-grandchildren; former spouse and friend, Sandy Smith and a host of friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; his only son, Sean T. Smith, Sr.; siblings, Richard Smith and Clarice Burkard.
The family will receive guests on Friday, August 31, 2018 from 2:00-5:00 p.m. at Newcomer - Northwest Chapel, 4150 W. Laskey Rd., (419-473-0300) with his Funeral Service beginning at 5:00 p.m.
Memorial Contributions may be made in Tim's memory to VFW National Home for Children, 3573 S. Waverly Rd., Eaton Rapids, MI 48827.

I didn't have a chance to know Tim, but he has left a mark in my life like no other. I stopped at the scene of the accident to provide assistance. You could feel the presence of love and care for Tim. You could tell he was a good man who would do anything for anyone. Prayers for his families peace and comfort.

I only knew Tim for a short time. I am sorry to see him go. Wonderful man. My thoughts are with his family.

I worked with Tim at Flower Hospital. Tim was more than a coworker, he was just an all around great friend. Tim was never too busy to help someone. As a carpenter his work was second to no one. One thing that everyone will miss is Tim's great sense of humor.
Yes Tim will be missed, but he will be riding his Harley on the great highway in the sky.
