Todd A.
Todd A. Smith, 46, of Perrysburg, Ohio, passed away on Thursday, January 3, 2013, after battling brain cancer. He was born in Ft. Wayne, Indiana, on July 27, 1966, to Roland C. Smith and Susie (Blue) Smith. He resided in Ft. Wayne and Fremont, Indiana during his childhood and moved with his family to Syracuse, Indiana where he attended Wawasee High School. He graduated from Wawasee in 1984 and went on to Purdue University where he obtained a degree in Mechanical Engineering. Todd was the Global Director of Gear Engineering for Dana Corporation where he worked for 27 years.
Todd is survived by his loving wife, April; his three beautiful children, Sabrina-13, Evan-12, and Griffin-9; his mother; his sister, Paula Fiscus; his brother, Brad (Cheryl) Smith; nieces and nephews; his father-in-law, Joe Babich, and numerous extended family members. He also leaves behind countless caring friends and neighbors. Todd was a beloved member of his community and highly respected by his co-workers.
A celebration of Todd's life will be held at the Coyle Funeral Home, 1770 S. Reynolds Rd. Toledo, Ohio on January 9, 2013, from 4:00- 8:00 with a "Sharing of Memorable Stories" at 7:00. Guests are asked to be casual and wear yellow in honor and memory of Todd. In lieu of flowers, family and friends may consider donations to The Memorial Fund of Sabrina, Evan, and Griffin Smith, c/o KeyBank, at any local bank branch or mail to KeyBank 1950 S. Reynolds Rd.,Toledo, OH 43614, attn. Mary Witt.
The family would like to thank the many neighbors and friends who have made this difficult time so much more bearable. Your help and generosity have been overwhelming.
