Tom Taylor Obituary
Tom Taylor, 74, of Monclova, OH passed away peacefully, Sunday, February 18, 2024, with his family by his side. He was born in Caro, MI on December 13, 1949, to Alger Bennett and Virginia Ruth (Wolters) Taylor, and was a graduate of Grandview Heights High School in 1968. Tom was married to Rhoda Barnes on August 4, 1979, and spent 44 years together.
Tom's hobbies included anything outdoors, but mostly fishing, as well as boating, working on cars, and telling stories to whomever would listen. Tom loved visiting the cabin in Mio, MI as much as possible in which he helped his dad and grandfather build as a kid. Above all Tom loved his 5 children and 5 grandchildren, they were everything to him, and he never missed an opportunity to tell others about what they were up to and their accomplishments.
For work Tom started Adohr Corp in 1982, a General Contracting company, where he was involved in many different types of construction projects including fast-food, retail, healthcare, education, and government. Tom was a fixture on the job site and will be remembered for his strong-willed personality. His strong-willed personality helped him navigate through a seven year, hard fought battle with Lung Cancer and Leukemias.
Tom is survived by his wife, Rhoda Taylor; children, Tami Taylor, Tommy (Jennifer) Taylor, Don (Adrienne) Taylor, Mike (Mistie) Taylor, and Jackie Taylor; grandchildren, Cody, Cameron, Erin, Bennett, and Penelope; sister, Sandy (Brock) Pickett; step siblings, Bob Gelia, and Carol Roscoe; sister-in-law, Connie Taylor. He is proceeded in death by his brother, Roger Taylor.
A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, March 2, 2024 in the Swan Lake Mausoleum at Toledo Memorial Park, 6382 Monroe Street, Sylvania, OH from 11:00-Noon. A Celebration of Life to follow. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Toledo Clinic Cancer Center or to The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society in honor of Tom's brave battles.
