V. Snyder Obituary
V. Charlene McLaughlin-Suhrbier
V. Charlene Snyder, 91, of Toledo, OH passed away September 19, 2015. She was born February 18, 1924, in Fayette, OH to Charlie and Esther (Sebring) McLaughlin. She graduated from Gorham Fayette High School and has remained in touch with classmates who have a reunion luncheon every year.
On September 5, 1942, Charlene married Robert C. Suhrbier Jr. to whom a son, Dr. Charles R. Snyder was born on January 1, 1944. Her husband, Robert died on December 7, 1945. The following year she married Ralph A. Snyder, who survives. They resided in Fayette, OH for several years where she was active in John Dale Post #143 American Legion Auxiliary, and still remains a member. After moving to Toledo, she worked for several automobile agencies, then began a thirty year position with Conforming Matrix Corporation as a bookkeeper, and finally as treasurer of the corporation.
Upon retirement she took up an active role with the Garden Club Forum of the Toledo District, Woman's Education Club, Gardeners of Woman's' Educational Club, Quest Garden Club, Towne Club, Golden Members of the Garden Club Forum Toledo District, and Samagama, The Club of Presidents.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, and her husband, Robert Suhrbier. Surviving is her husband, Ralph; son, Charles (Patricia) Snyder of Grand Lake, CO; grandsons, Derek (Jill) Snyder of Centennial, CO, Darin (Aniko) Snyder, of Idaho Falls, ID and great-granddaughters, Amanda, Ella, Hayden and Lauren Snyder.
A visitation will be held on Tuesday, September 22 from 4-8 p.m. at the Coyle Funeral Home, 1770 S. Reynolds Rd. in Toledo, OH. Funeral services will be held at Coyle on Wednesday, September 23 at 10 a.m. Private Interment will be in Pleasant View Cemetery, Fayette, Ohio.
In lieu of flowers, a donation to the donor's favorite charity is suggested.
