Vincent I. Obituary

Vincent "Pete" Hester I

November 8,1948 - February 1,2023

Vincent Perry Hester was born November 8, 1948 in Toledo, Ohio to James and Arleda Hester. He passed away on February 1, 2023 at the age of 74 in Douglasville, Georgia where he retired. Vincent was affectionately known by the moniker "Pete" and enjoyed being with family and friends, camping, vacationing, and tending to his many interests. Vince attended Irwin Elementary and Spencer-Sharples High from the time the school was built but relocated to Toledo to graduate with Honors from M.R. Waite High School Class of 1966. Vincent was a lifelong Jehovah's Witness. When Vincent was 5 years old he walked a sweet girl named Sylvia to school and later declared that he would marry her. Vincent and Sylvia married and spent 55 years together raising their only child, V. Perry Hester II, in a home they built together in Holland, Ohio. Vincent was owner/operator of VECO Electric as a professional contractor and electrician. He was a proud member of the Local 8 IBEW Union for 40 years. Vincent will be fondly remembered for his love of family as he dedicated much of his time to his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Vincent also worked hard to promote Hester family reunions. It was Vincent's greatest joy to feed others and to be fed. Vincent's easy smile and gentle manner will be missed by all who loved him.

Vincent "Pete" Hester is survived by his wife, Sylvia Hester; their son, V. Perry (Ava) Hester II; his granddaughter, Valaje Hester; his grandson, Ty Wilson; great- grandchildren, Pryncess Maddox, Czarina Maddox and Ta'Layah Wilson. He is survived by his sisters, Tesser Badgett, Toledo OH, Roxann (Jonathon) Belcher, Holland, OH; and brother, Kelsey (Zonia) Hester, Dallas TX. He was preceded in death by his parents, James Edward and Arleda Hester; as well as brother, Benford E. Hester, Sr,; also great-grandson, De'Jon Shant'ez Maddox, Jr. He will be dearly missed by a host of cousins, nieces, and nephews and friends.

Oh my, I certainly want to send my heartfelt condolensences to the Hesters, one thing for sure he may be gone in the physical but never in spirt. So he's still with you as long as you're breathing. I know, we grew up with 13 plus our parents, now there are only 6 out of 16. That's a lot of love in me!!! So your treasure chest of love has been added to.
