Wanda Knapik Obituary
Wanda V.
Wanda V. Knapik, age 95, of Toledo, passed away on Wednesday, January 13, 2016, at The Rosary Care Center, Sylvania. She was born on June 7, 1920, in Toledo, OH to Frank and Victoria (Kajfasz) Knapik. Wanda worked at Jeep Aircraft during WWII, and at Champion Spark Plug for 10 years. She was a housekeeper for Father Joe Mrowca for over 30 years at St. Adalbert, Our Lady of Lourdes, St. Augustine in Napoleon, OH, and Nativity Catholic Churches. An excellent seamstress, she enjoyed making clothing and coats. She enjoyed listening to others as they shared their experiences even though she was a very private person herself. Committed, reliable, and devoutly religious, Wanda always prayed the rosary before any Mass that she attended. She will be dearly missed by her family and friends.
Wanda is survived by her sisters, Michaeline Nowaczyk, Lillian (Tom) Huffman, and Phyllis Kujawa; brother, Gerald Knapik; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews, and great-great-nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; infant sister, Mary Ann Knapik; sisters, Helen Koperski and Cecilia Klein; and brothers, Meceslaus "Nate" Knapik and Aloysius Knapik.
Visitation will be Friday from 4-7 p.m. at Sujkowski Funeral Home Northpointe, 114 E. Alexis Rd., and Saturday from 9-10 a.m. at Christ the King Catholic Church. The Funeral Mass will begin Saturday at 10 a.m. in Christ the King Church. Interment will follow in Calvary Cemetery.
