William ARONOFF Obituary

ARONOFF William E. William Edward Aronoff, 79, of Sylvania, Ohio and Palm Beach Gardens, Florida, passed away on Tuesday, November 30, 2010, at Jackson Memorial Hospital in Miami, Florida after a lengthy illness. Bill was born in Toledo, Ohio on June 10, 1931 to the late Fay (Bensman) and Ben Aronoff. He was married to Arlene Tarschis for 36 years and she preceded him in death. He subsequently married Shirley Torchin, of Montreal Canada and South Florida who survives. Bill and his family were involved in a number of businesses including real estate and development in Toledo, California and Las Vegas. He also worked many years as the credit manager at Sheller Globe in Toledo. Bill was an active member of the Jewish communities of both Toledo and Palm Beach Gardens. He was a member of Temple B'nai Israel. Bill is survived by beloved children, Scott (Jeanne) Aronoff of Mason, Ohio; Leslie (Stevin) Groth of Sylvania, Ohio; proud Papa to his grandsons, Jacob Groth, Andrew and Samuel Aronoff and granddaughter, Mollie Groth. He is also survived by sister in law, Barbara (Marks) Aronoff, nephew, Richard (Pamela) Aronoff and their children Leah and Lawrence and nephew, Robert Aronoff. He is also survived by Shirley's children, Reesa Davis, Jacqueline (Adel) Jimenez and David Torchin. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Lawrence Aronoff and wife, Arlene (Tarschis) Aronoff. Services will be held Sunday, December, 5th, at 1 p.m. in the Robert H. Wick/Wisniewski Funeral Home, 2426 N. Reynolds Road. Interment at Beth Shalom Cemetery, Oregon, Ohio. The family suggests tributes take the form of contributions to Temple B'nai Israel or the donor's choice.

Leslie, in all these years of knowing you through Amazing Space, I never knew that Bill was your father. I worked directly for him at Sheller Globe and occasionally socialized with him and your beautiful Mother. He talked non stop about you and your brother when you were little. I will forever remember his great smile that he was never without. He was one of a kind.
