Had so many great times with Billy, they are the best memories I have. Who could forget his Monday morning announcements over the PA of the Senior Mens Softball League results? Yes, the Dads star 2nd baseman was the goods, even if he could not catch a frog in his mouth like some of you other folks. Billy enriched my life. I feel blessed to have known him. This was one sweet man.

I cannot begin to recall all the fantastic, interesting, hilarious times I've shared with Bill. From the Bier Stube, Tiger opening day, my golf partner for 9 years. Those who read this can fill in the blanks. Always a great friend to myself and my family.

Big Bill was one to always make people laugh. It was nothing but fun to be around him and I'll never forget parking next to him Senior year with our Oldsmobile Delta 88's. Be at peace Irish brother.

Billy was a friend, brother, and confidant to me for most of my life. We shared so many memories and adventures. We were roomates for many years when we were in our 20's. During that era one of the things we enjoyed was Sunday feasts during football season. He enjoyed having people come over to watch the games while he was busy praparing a great meal. Billy was a great cook and loved eating good. His mastery of the grill makes my mouth water for one of his 2 inch thick New York strips. Our love for the Buckeyes found us most Saturdays at the bar rooting for the Bucks through thick and thin.We sometimes found ourselves in trouble because sometimes we would do a shot everytime the Bucks scored a touchdown. Billy coined the a phrase for this ritual calling them "touchdown tinies". Wo and behold the days when the Bucks would score 40 points or more. Billy had so many friends from so many walks of life. One group friends that I am privileged to be a part of was the Indy gang. From a caravan of vehicles that included about 20 to 30 people in our youth to a group of about 6 to 8 diehards in our later years he was one of the diehards that made the annual trek for over 30 years. These provided us some of our fondest memories. As the tears are roling down my cheeks as I write this it's needless to say I and everyone he touched will miss him so much. And so,my brother, as you leave us and start the next adventure, I want to say again that I love you and will never forget you. To paraphrase a quote that I believe you coined at one of our Indy adventures, "THANKS FOR COMING".
Your Pal,
John Sartor

Billy,
No one could ever tell you how much you meant to so many people. Maybe if we had we could have had a different outcome.
I thank you for all the great times from the 70's on. Even after I left Toledo, whenever we saw each other it felt like yesterday.
I love ya Billy,
Mel

It saddens me deeply when I think about never being able to talk with Bill again. He was a dear friend which I shared many great times with. Most of my memories are based around the many golf outings we had together going all the way back to high school. Playing together on the CCHS golf team and getting out of school early. Jumping into his Buick and popping in the Grand Funk Railroad 8 track to get us psyched up for our match. I'll also miss him not being part of the Toledo Classic Dave Baz Memorial we've played in since the early 80's. But most of all ,I'll miss my friend that had a heart of gold and would do anything to help someone out.
Judy , your brother Bill was a very special person and touched many lives in his own special way.
My sympathies to you and your family.

Sincerely ,
