William Piasecki Obituary

William Piasecki

01/10/1947 - 09/01/2025

William H. Piasecki, born on January 10, 1947, passed away on September 1, 2025, at age 78, after a long struggle with cancer. He was born and raised in Toledo, Ohio, and attended Whitmer High School.

In 1976, he met his future wife, Wanda, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, and they moved to Toledo. He was a welder at American Ship Building. Bill and Wanda were married in 1980, and moved to Denver, Colorado, in 1981. Bill held multiple welding jobs. He retired at the age of 62, and began his metal art business. Bill and Wanda enjoyed participating in craft fairs and selling his art around the Denver area. He would tell everyone, "I do the cool stuff." But his greatest joy came from gifting his art to the people he loved and those he met on his journey. In 2019, Bill and Wanda left Denver and moved back to Ohio to enjoy spending time with his sons and grandchildren.

Bill was also known for the pride he took in his health and his body. He was dedicated to weight training and started at an early age at Torio's health club, which was located in West Toledo. He held multiple belts in Taekwondo and practiced faithfully. His final workout was July 13, 2025.

Bill was preceded in death by his parents, Evelyn Adams and William Piasecki; sister, Sandy Nohl; brother, Jim Adams; and niece, Tracey Groshon. He is survived by his wife, Wanda; sons, Bill (Lisa), Jim (Jade); and grandchildren, Lorna (Scott), Carter, Austin, Lucia (Lucy); great-grandchild, Emmett; sister, Dianne (Billy); along with multiple nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and nephews.

He was loved by many and will be missed by all, but his memories will live on through his weights and his artwork. Services are private.

My Uncle Billy holds such a special place in my heart; and I will never stop missing him dearly. He was such a character in my life: teasing, laughing, cheating at card and board games, listening to music, burning incense, lifting weights, all his doggies, lover of nature and all creatures, teaching life lessons....He is a man to look up to and admire! He meant what he said, he said what he felt, and he lived his life with passion and intention. His moral and physical strength are to be admired and appreciated as well as his many skills and talents. He fought the cancer as long as he could; and until his last few breaths, he loved, he cared, he cried, he expressed, and never stopped trying. He was a loyal husband, father, Uncle, son, and friend. I'm so glad he and Aunt Wanda moved back to Ohio so we could all spend time with them again. Uncle Billy will be missed more than words can say, and I am deeply grateful for all the memories. You did it your way, Uncle Billy!!
