Joseph S. Vaccaro

Joseph S. Vaccaro, 98, of Pennington, NJ, passed away peacefully on August 12, 2025, in Ewing, NJ, at Greenwood House Nursing Facility.
Born in Trenton, NJ, to Onofrio (Arthur) and Vincenza (Jennie) Vaccaro, originally from Casteltermini, Sicily, Joe was the beloved brother of Samuel (Betty) Vaccaro, Connie (Ray) Sabat, and Jean (Tom) Horman.
As a young man, Joe worked at Lenox China in Trenton before enlisting in the U.S. Army in 1941. After completing boot camp, he was stationed in Germany until the end of World War II. Upon returning home, he met and married Pauline (Scozzari) Vaccaro, his wife of 39 years. He worked as a mason for her father's construction company until his retirement.
Joe and Pauline settled in Pennington, where they raised their four children: Jean (Dan) Kurtain, Anna (Paul) Beckingham, Paula (John) Scannella, and Joseph (Denise) Vaccaro. He was a proud grandfather to ten grandchildren and great-grandfather to nine. Joe loved hosting large family barbecues and was an avid hunter and fisherman, enjoying many outings with his son and son-in-law over the years.
After Pauline's passing in 1988, Joe began a new chapter with his devoted companion of 37 years, Janice Pluta of Ewing, NJ. Together, they enjoyed country line dancing, vacationing in the Pocono Mountains, spending time outdoors, and cherishing moments with family and friends.
Joe was predeceased by his wife Pauline, his son Joseph, his son-in-law John, his siblings and their spouses, and several brothers- and sisters-in-law and nephews.
He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
