Francine G. White

Francine G. White, 74 of Trenton, departed this life on Wednesday, February 22, 2017. She was fondly known as “Mom”, Madre, Auntie, Grandma, Miss Fran, Zing-Zing and Fran. Born in Trenton, NJ, Francine was a lifelong area resident. Francine attended Jefferson Elementary School, Jr. High School No. # 1 and was a graduate of Trenton Central High School class of 1961. She attended Mercer County Community College and Thomas Edison State College where she received many certificates in Early Childhood Education. Francine joined the Beauty Grove Primitive Baptist Church in 1955 where she served on the Jr. and Senior Usher Board; as President of the Young Adult Usher Board; the Pastor’s Aide (Willing Workers) ministry. She was a prolific Sunday School Teacher. She was also member of The Missionaries, Matrons, Friendly Twelve, Beaulah Lites, Silvertone Gospel Chorus and the Mass Choir. Sis. White was the Field Agent of the S.O.S.Z.O. Primitive Baptist Association and served as President of the Women’s Congress. In addition, she was an active member of the National Primitive Baptist Convention, USA. She was employed by Lipton Tea Company early in life. Later in life she was employed as a Teacher at the Carolyn Stokes Day Nursery for many years. After leaving Carolyn Stokes Nursery she became the Assistant Director of the Laura Spelman Child Care Center,Ewing, NJ. Her latest employment after retirement was at Empower Fitness where she was a Dance Instructor. Francine was a member of the Reading Senior Citizen Center where she was a representative for Nutrition Council. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ulysses and Thelma Griffith; her brother, Ulysses, Jr. and her sister, Mae Thelma Lyons. Francine is survived by her sons, Elder Robert E. White, Jr. and Keith B. White; her grandchildren, Jahmir Al-Malik, Mila Yasmeen and Jayden Keith White; her sisters, Josie Cruise (Joe), Shirley Hayes and Gladys Stroman; a daughter-in-law, Andrea White; godsons, Jerome Sumpter and Jason Rogers; god-daughters, Rose Mary Williams, Danielle Leach-Joachim and Teri Lynn Triplett; special nieces, Saleemah Williams, Billie June Bailey-McLaurin, Wilhelmina Ellis and Kartika Rodriguez; a special nephew, Burton Alfred, Sr.; special friends, Ann Thompkins and the entire National P. B. Convention Family, Empower Fitness Family along with a host of other nieces, nephews and friends. Funeral Services will be Tuesday, February 28, 2017 at 11am at Beauty Grove Primitive Baptist Church 66 Race St. Trenton, NJ Interment will be in Greenwood Cemetery. Calling hours will be Tuesday from 9am to 11am at the church. Arrangements are by Campbell Funeral Chapel.
