Gilda Chirello Obituary

Gilda O. Chiarello, 84, of Hamilton Township, NJ, passed away peacefully at home on Thursday, May 3, 2012.
Born in Newark Gilda moved to Trenton when she married her loving husband, William Chiarello, in 1945. She and William worked at Hibbert Printing Company, Trenton, together for 38 years. Gilda was a loving wife, mother, sister and sister-in-law, aunt and friend and was adored by all who knew her. She was an excellent cook, bowled for many years, crocheted, travelled throughout the U.S. plus Italy, enjoyed cruising and in her later years, bus trips to A.C. with senior citizens of St. Joachim's with her family and friends. She was a lifetime member of the Trenton Silent Club and Trenton Deaf Seniors where she enjoyed many great friendships. To sum it up, she led a full and wonderful life. She will be forever remembered for her great smile, big heart and unique sense of humor.
Daughter of the late Attilio and Susie Violante Della Sala, daughter-in-law of Aniello and Maria Chiarello, wife of the late William A. Chiarello, and sister of the late Josephine Kilpatrick and Carmine Della Sala, she is survived by her daughter and son-in-law; Janice and Ronnie Steward; of Hamilton, three sisters-in-law; Ann and Adda Chiarello; of Florida, Carmella Chiarello; of Trenton, her "second" daughter; Carol Matuska; her wonderful caregiver and dear friend; Josephine Killiam; and many nieces and nephews.
The funeral will be held at 8 a.m. on Thursday (May 10) from Brenna Funeral Home, 340 Hamilton Ave., Trenton, NJ. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 9:30 a.m. on Thursday at Our Lady of the Angels/St. Joachim's Church 20-50 Butler Street, Trenton. Entombment will follow in St. Mary's Mausoleum, St. Joachim's Patio, Cedar Lane, Hamilton.
Calling hours for family and friends will be from 6-8 p.m. on Wednesday (May 9) at Brenna Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in her memory to Our Lady of the Angels/St Joachim's Church, 21-23 Bayard St., Trenton, NJ.

My thoughts, prayers and love to my "special" cousin Janice and her wonderful husband, Ronnie for their love, devotion and dedication to their Mother....please take comfort that she is now with her beloved husband and is at peace. Please know that my Godmother/Aunt Gilda with always have a special place in my heart with her sister, my Mother Josephine......I'm comforted to know that they are together in Heaven......
