Bonnie Labosky Obituary

Bonnie (Bonita Louise) Labosky

Bonnie Labosky, born in Johnstown, PA, July 21, 1942, the daughter of John and Agnes Labosky, died peacefully in the company of her husband James Tallon, son Luke Tallon and daughter Katherine Tallon (Peter Rosenblum) on March 27, 2023, after a long illness.

She was the loving grandmother of James and Will Tallon and Olivia and Max Rosenblum. She was the loved and admired "big sister" of Sharon Kirk (Sam Kirk) and John Labosky. Bonnie grew up in DuBois, PA, where with the encouragement of her father, she grew to love mathematics, pursuing it further at Mercyhurst College and University of Notre Dame. She later translated this love of math into professional leadership in medical technology at Medtronic in Minnesota, Welch Allyn in Skaneateles, NY, and lastly back in Minnesota as CEO of then start-up Respicardia, Inc. In all of these roles, Bonnie was a trailblazer for women. She loved travel, art and music. Among her most outstanding achievements was her insistence on consistently melding her love for her work with her love for her family.

She was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt to many nieces and nephews, and friend.

Her life will be celebrated prayerfully with a Requiem Mass at Blessed Sacrament Church in New York City, where she had retired to be closer to her children and grandchildren. The Mass will be on Monday, April 3, at 11 a.m. May she rest in peace.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to your local food bank.

Bonnie was the head of the Medtronic division that I worked for. Although I have been retired for more than 20 years, I will always remember this amazing woman. Bonnie's door was always open. Bonnie would walk out during the day and invite someone to lunch with her. Whether it was the factory, a technician, or an engineer, I am quite sure it was always a woman.
Bonnie was tasked with the job of cleaning up an outdated and dirty building. Offices were made a normalized size, that caused a lot of unhappy, selfish individuals.
I do not know what the responsibilities of her position were, I don't think she was tasked with being kind, and she was wonderful.
I have followed her career for a number of years, and I am sorry to hear of her passing.
I am proud to have known her.

Rest peacefully, Bonita. I remember you from our 4th-grade class at St. Catherine's. I admired you for being so nice to me, and I never forgot you...

I remember Bonita from the 4th grade at St. Catherine's School in DuBois. She was always so nice and cheerful. I lost track of her after she entered the convent, which apparently she left for family life. May she rest in peace...

I always looked up to Bonnie when we were growing up. She was such a loving person and a beautiful role model. My prayers are with all of you. God bless.
