1929 - 2025

A Life Remembered and Cherished

It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of Frances Beverly Okonski, known to all as "Pat," who departed this world to be with our Heavenly Father on May 26, 2025. Born on March 27, 1929, in DuBois, Pennsylvania to Easton and Elizabeth LaBorde, Frances lived life to the fullest with her loving family and cherished friends throughout all her 96 years. Now reunited with her parents and sister Betty in Heaven, Pat will be deeply missed by all surviving family and friends.

Frances was the beloved wife of Leonard "Len" Okonski for 75 years; they began their life together in Columbia, South Carolina during the Korean War, moved to Fairless Hills, Pennsylvania to raise their children, transitioned to North Myrtle Beach, South Carolina upon retirement, and then to The Villages, Florida when more warmth was desired. A devoted mother to Michael (and Gail) Okonski, Deborah Okonski Raykovitz, and David (and Angele) Okonski. A loving grandmother to Aaron Okonski, Trevor Okonski, Cassidy (and Philip) Benedict, and Katie Okonski. A proud and ecstatic great-grandmother to Beckham and Hadley Benedict.

Frances will rest in eternal peace in Morningside Cemetery in DuBois, Pennsylvania. A celebration of life gathering will be held in Waterford, Michigan at the Riverside Chapel (5630 Pontiac Lake Road) on Nov. 29, 2025 at 10:30 a.m. A memorial service followed by burial will be held in DuBois, Pennsylvania in June of 2026 – details to be provided later. In lieu of cards or flowers, the family requests that you simply pray for the good health and happiness of your own family.
