Gaynell Gent Obituary

Gaynell B. "Gay" Gent, 87, DuBois, passed away Thursday, June 4, 2020 at the DuBois Nursing Home.

Born June 25, 1932, in DuBois, she was the daughter of the late Charles G. and Amy Mae (Christian) Beer.

On June 29, 1952, she married George L. Gent in DuBois. He survives.

Gay graduated from Sandy High School in 1950. She worked for Cameron Distributors in Reynoldsville, Rockwell, and 20 years for Ross's Greenhouse. Gay enjoyed gardening, raising her grandson, and spending time with her family. She played in a card club for 60 years. Gay was a member of Mt. Zion United Methodist Church.

In addition to her husband, Gay is survived by two children, Gordon L. Gent, Kersey, and Dana (Keith) Secor, Jacksonville, FL; three grandchildren, Jeremy Gent and Carlos and Sean Guffey; three great-grandchildren; two sisters, Marie Hutchins, Penfield, and Ruth Fitzpatrick, DuBois, as well as several nieces and nephews.

Gay was preceded in death by her parents, a sister, Pauline Kessler, and two brothers, Charles and Francis Beer.

There will be no public visitation or funeral service. Arrangements are under the direction of Adamson Funeral Chapel, Inc.

Memorial donations may be made to the Mt. Zion UMC, 16 Denton Ave., DuBois, PA 15801 or to the Parkside Community Center, 120 W. Park Ave., DuBois, PA 15801.
