Gladys Harris Obituary
Born on September 27, 1938, in DuBois, PA, she was the daughter of the late Bernard E. and Sadie (East) Powers, Sr.
In 1955, she married James E. Harris, Sr. He preceded her in death on June 14, 1982.
Gladys was a nutritional supervisor at Penn Highlands DuBois hospital for 38 years, retiring at the age of 80.
She was a member of Christ Lutheran Church. Gladys loved to polka dance and was a member of the Sandy Hose Company #1 Auxiliary. Above all, she loved her family and spending time with them.
Gladys is survived by her children (Debra Manners and her husband Michael, Diana Kessler and her husband Daniel, Sarah Simanic, James E. Harris, Jr. and companion Karen Riley, Sandra Lange and her husband Mark, and Jason Harris and companion Mary Shumaker, all of DuBois, PA), numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two brothers (Bernard Powers, Jr. and Earl Powers), and one sister (Anna Mae Kweder).
There will be no public visitation and a service will be held at the convenience of the family.
Burial will be in Morningside Cemetery.
Memorial donations may be made to the charity of the donor's choice.
The Baronick Funeral Home & Crematorium is in charge of arrangements.
