Marie Sloff Obituary

Marie E. Sloff, 90, of Clinton Township, Michigan and formerly from Sykesville, PA, passed away Tuesday, April 13, 2021 at McLaren McComb Hospital in Michigan after a short illness.

She was born on June 2, 1930, in Sykesville, PA, the daughter of the late Joseph and Mary (Shema) Sloff.

She was employed at Jeffers in DuBois, PA and then in in her twenties, Marie moved to Ohio, where she was employed at White Motors in Cleveland until her retirement. After she retired, she relocated to Michigan where she resided for the remainder of her life. Despite the distance from her immediate family, it never interfered with Marie's frequent visits to Sykesville to see her parents and St. Marys, PA to spend time with her brother and his family.

Marie is survived by her brother Edward and his wife Ruth (Pug) Sloff of St. Marys, PA. She is also survived by her niece Amy Higgins of St Marys, PA, her nephew Michael Sloff and his wife Kim, and her niece Molly Uberti and her husband Curtis. Marie extended her love freely to her great nieces and nephews; Jimmy (Crystal) Higgins from St. Marys, PA; Nathan (Laura) Higgins from Kersey, PA; and Seth Higgins from St. Marys, PA; Rachel, Nick and Christian Sloff from St. Marys, PA; and Taylor and Joshua Uberti from Force, PA.

Our dear Lord had other plans for Marie, however, she was very much anticipating the day she would meet her great, great niece and nephews, Harper and Jackson Higgins from Kersey, PA and Luka Higgins from St. Marys, PA.

Marie had family throughout the Cleveland, Ohio and the Detroit, Michigan area who she enjoyed visiting and celebrating life with. Marie loved to travel and along the way made some lifelong friends. She had a love of polka music and could dance the night away to a good ole' polka band. She was an avid sports fan with basketball and Penn State football being her favorites. Marie often expressed her thankfulness and appreciation of the caregivers and friends she had throughout the years.
