Shirley LaBance Obituary

Shirley LaBance, 86, of Sykesville, passed away Monday, March 13, 2017, after a lengthy illness.
She was born Feb. 14, 1931, in DuBois, Pa., daughter of the late Joseph and Mildred (Shaffer) Brendle. She married Andrew LaBance on June 10, 1950. He preceded her in death.
She was a graduate of Sykesville High School. She worked for Brockway Glass for over 25 years. She was a member of Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church in Sykesville. She enjoyed family, friends, travel, theater and gardening.
She is survived by her daughter, Pamela LaBance, of New York, N.Y.; and two brothers, Bernard Brendle of Indiana, Pa. and Robert Brendle of Florida.
She is also preceded in death by a daughter, Barbara Ann; and two brothers, Joseph Brendle and James Brendle.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, April 8, at 10 a.m., at ABVM Catholic Church in Sykesville with Fr. William Barron as Celebrant. Burial will follow in Anita Catholic Cemetery.
