I have known Master Chris Ivanoff for many years. We started Taekwondo in about the same time frame. I spent a couple of days with him before and after his event in Powell during a wonderful blizzard I brought down from Canada. This was the first time I met Mila.
I am the type of person that can count friends on my hands and count Chris as a person that was my friend. We chatted for many hours that weekend, reminising about our Taekwondo adventures and how this wonderful martial art challenged us personally and brings people together as lifelong friends all around the globe. We had long talks on a trip to Cody and the Wild Bill Museum. Lots of laughs and jokes. We were laying plans for him to visit my area in the summer of 2026.
He is a person with a good heart and high ethics. I will miss my many WhatsApp Chats and calls. I have a great appreciation of art and feel his pieces are a wonderful and have a somewhat whimsical expression to them. I scrolled through the photos of his art with a sense of excitement.
The world will miss him, I know that I will.
