Gary and my dad, Paul Sherwood, became friends through the Jaycees.
And Gary helped my dad get a job with him at Thatcher and Sons when we were as poor as church mice. He has remained a dear friend of our family for over 40 years.
A humble and multi-talented man, he always seemed to be working. He was a lot like my dad, he could do anything. I loved his stories and his laugh. He was a good man, a special man--one of a kind. An unsung hero of our little town. He will be greatly missed. It just won't be the same without him.
This COVID stuff is for the birds. I wish I could have said goodbye to Gary in person. Well, I'll have to wait for the next hello, instead.
May God welcome Gary home. No doubt Dad's in the greeting party!
Lila and Wendy, we're here if you need anything. <3

So sorry to hear of Gary´s passing.
We all started school together in the fall of 1952 and enjoyed going to the Wilcox ranch every spring for our end of school year picnic. He was a good friend to many and always had a big smile every time I saw him.
