Peter Fratto Obituary

Peter "Limey" Fratto Jr., 69, of 612 Kingview Road, Scottdale, died unexpectedly Monday afternoon, Aug. 9, 2004, in Frick Hospital, Mount Pleasant. He was born in Scottdale, June 10, 1935, a son of the late Pietro Fratto, who died April 3, 1968, and the late Maria Zaffina Fratto, who died March 28, 1970. Limey was a lifetime member of the church of St. John the Baptist, Scottdale. He was a retired inspector for Anchor Hocking Glass Corp. of South Connellsville, with 37 years of service, and was a member of the GPPAW Local of Connellsville. Limey was a member of the Mount Pleasant Sons of Italy and a proud lifetime member of the Connellsville Polish Independent Club. He was also a member of numerous clubs and organizations throughout the Fay-West area. He was known by his family and friends as an avid Pittsburgh Pirate and Steeler fan, Limey leaves to cherish his memories, his loving and devoted family: two sisters, Mary Theresa Fratto of Scottdale, with whom he resided, Concetta Fagan and her husband, Joseph of Scottdale, and their children, Carol and Dr. Mark Williams of Scottdale, Michael Fagan and his wife, Renee of Greensburg, Joseph Fagan and his wife, Kim of Everson, and John Fagan and his wife, Geri of Scottdale; a brother, James Fratto and his wife, Paula of Scottdale, and their children James Fratto Jr. and his wife, Mary of Greensburg, and Peter Fratto and his wife, Kim of Scottdale; nieces, Elizabeth Feeley of Johnson City, Tenn., Donna Qualley and her husband, John of Harrison City, and Denise CaIdwell and her husband, Hudnell of Scottdale; Lisa Fratto of Everson and nephew, Mark Fratto of Indian Head; and a number of great-nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Limey will once again be reunited with his two sisters, Maria Fratto, who died in infancy, and Elizabeth Detone, who died March 16, 1987; his two brothers, Gregory G. Fratto, who died Feb. 13, 1981, and Frank Fratto, who died June 2, 1979. Limey's family will greet friends in the family residence, 612 Kingview Road, Scottdale, tonight from 7 to 9 p.m. and Wednesday from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. A blessing service will be held in the family home, Thursday at 9:15 a.m., followed by his funeral Mass to be celebrated at 10 a.m. in the church of St. John The Baptist, Scottdale, with his pastor, the Rev. Leonard W. Stoviak as celebrant, Committal services and interment will follow in St. John Parish Cemetery, Scottdale. The family suggests memorials be made to St. John the Baptist Parochial School, 504 S. Broadway, Scottdale, or Verna Montessori School, 268 Prittstown Road, Mount Pleasant, in memory of Peter Limey Fratto Jr. A parish wake service will be held Wednesday in the home. Limey's funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the FRANK KAPR FUNERAL HOME INC., 417 W. Pittsburgh St., Scottdale.
