Josephine Bocka Obituary

Josephine L. Bocka Ohatchee, Ala. formerly of Rankin Josephine Lonczak Polek Bocka, 94, of Ohatchee, Ala., formerly of Rankin, died Tuesday, Aug. 21, 2012, in Alabama. She had been residing with her son, Henry Polek and his wife, Rosetta. Josie was born on Jan. 9, 1918, in Braddock, to the late John and Katherine Kawa Lonczak. She was the widow of the late Andrew A. Bocka, who died Sept. 18, 1996. She is survived by her son, Henry (Rosetta) Polek; grandsons, Samuel A. and Matthew J. Polek; and a great-grandaugther, Sally Rose Polek. Besides her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Theresa Polek. Josie will be remembered as the sales manager of Guentert's Bakery on Braddock Avenue, Braddock, for many, years until her retirement from the bakery. Visitation with the family will be from 8:30 a.m. Friday, Aug. 24, 2012, until the time of her Mass of Christian Burial, celebrated at 9:30 a.m. by Father Richard Terdine, in Good Shepherd Church, 1025 Braddock Ave., Braddock. Burial will follow next to her husband, Andrew, in the Veteran's Section of Monongahela Cemetery, North Braddock. Funeral arrangments are being handeled by the SCHLEIFER FUNERAL CHAPEL, INC. (412-271-1361), formerly the Ronald V. Lucas Funeral Home Inc., 534 Jones Ave., North Braddock.
