Gary L. Hill

1953 - 2022

Gary Lee Hill, 69, of Plum Borough and formerly of Hazelwood, died Monday, Dec. 19, 2022. He was the beloved husband for 52 years of Janet (Balson) Hill; loving father of Gary Hill Jr. (Jocelyn), Kimmie and Brian (Jamie); Pappy of Gary III (Brianna), Austin, Jordyn, Jadyn, Jamyson, Cooper, Jensyn, Madison, Victoria and Brianna; great-grandfather of Gary IV; brother of Robert (Mary Elaine), Wayne (Carol) and Roy (Diane) Hill and the late Harry and William Hill, the late Harriet "Patsy" McPherson and the late Virginia Elcock; and is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews. Gary was an outgoing, generous and caring man and a great story teller. His family meant the world to him as did he to everyone around him. He loved drives to the camp and spending time on his tractors, heavy equipment and ATVs. He was never afraid of a challenge and accumulated a wealth of knowledge because of it. He was the former owner of many local businesses, including Hill's Beer Distributor, and followed that with a successful sales career with Trane HVAC. He will be sorely missed. Friends will be received from 3 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at MAURICE L. KNEE LTD. FUNERAL HOME, 7663 Saltsburg Road (across from S&T Bank), Plum, PA 15239, where a funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday. Interment will follow in Plum Creek Cemetery.
