Jacob R. Hursh

1989 - 2022

Jacob Robert Hursh, 33, of Irwin, lost his hard-fought battle with cancer Sunday, Oct. 2, 2022, in Shadyside Hospital, Pittsburgh. He was born March 21, 1989, in Winter Park, Fla., to Raymond R. Hursh (Lori), of Manor, and Robin L. Wilt-Hursh (David), of Brooksville, Fla. Jake was most recently the owner of Hursh Multimedia-his own advertising specialty. Jake was also a founding member and rhythm guitarist of the band FUBAR, which has a unique blend of reggae/rock/ska/punk. The band is well-known in the Pittsburgh music circuit and has a heavy fan base in the tri-state area, with fans all over the world. Jake was preceded in death by paternal grandparents, Howard H. Hursh and Phyllis G. (Woomer) Hursh, and maternal grandfather, Robert F. Wilt. In addition to his parents, Jake is survived by his fiancee, Brittany N. Queer, of Irwin, two stepsons, Caleb E. Queer and Conner P. Carlson, and his beloved daughter, Emma Lynn Hursh; maternal grandmother, Inez S. Wilt, a brother, Zachary G. Hursh (Linzi), of Manor, a sister, Cassandra R. Hursh (Mitchell), of Jeannette; his "other" girl, Thunder, a Golden Aussie dog; and numerous loving aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. There will be a celebration of his life held from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 22, 2022, at Manor American Legion, 58 Race St., Manor, PA 15665.
