James R. Horvath

1945 - 2022

James R. Horvath, 77, of Wyano, passed away Wednesday, Dec. 28, 2022, after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born Sept. 13, 1945, in Wyano, to the late John "Jabo" and Pearl Zyla Horvath. Jim was a 1963 graduate of South Huningdon Township High School. Jim was preceded in death by his brother, John (Gunther); sister, Lorraine Horvath Margie; and his children, infant, Jamie Ann, son, Beau James, daughter, Jessica Renee, and Holly Lynn Horvath, who passed unexpectedly on Dec. 8, 2022. He retired by working at both USS Works in Pittsburgh and Fairfield Works in Birmingham, Ala. Jim was a member of the VFW in Wyano who enjoyed hunting, fishing and golfing. But his real passion was his love of gardening. Jim is survived by his loving wife, Barbara Watkins Horvath; daughter, Sharon E. Hanson; grandchildren, Clint James and Katrina Ann Hanson; in addition to a number of cousins, nieces and nephews; and all the friends he met and made along his journey through his life on earth. The family would like to thank Suncrest Hospice for taking such good care of Jim in his final days. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 7, 2023, at CPT Fellowship Church of Wyano, with Pastor Matt Birch officiating.
