Thomas M. Smith, 81, of Blawnox, passed away peacefully at his home after a long, hard battle with Lewy Body Dementia. He was the beloved husband of 57 years to Janet; loving father of Stacy (John) Stilley and Thomas M. Smith Jr., and daughter-in-law, Christine; proud grandfather of Brittany (Goran) Vukicevic, J.T. (Sarah) Stilley, Jake Stilley, Josh (Kelsey) Stilley and Serena Smith; and three great-grandsons. He was the brother-in-law of Kathleen Warburton. He was preceded in death by his sister, Jean Smith. Tom and Jan founded the Thomas M. Smith Funeral Home in 1966. Tom also served with honor as the mayor of Blawnox Borough for 40 years. Visitation will be from 1 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday and Sunday at the THOMAS M. SMITH FUNERAL HOME & CREMATORY LTD., 930 Center Ave., Blawnox, where family and friends will gather at 10 a.m. Monday, followed by funeral Mass at 11 a.m. in Christ the King Parish, St. Edward Church.
