ERDA MAE GORDON

Erda Mae (Gottlieb) Gordon, 93, of Plum, passed away on Sunday, Sept. 21, 2025. Wife of the late Edwin W. III for 46 years; beloved mother of Edwin W. (Lisa) Gordon IV of Aberdeen, MD, Debbe (Brian) Gordon Jack of Plum, and Paul Mark (the late Ina) Gordon of Waco, TX; grandmother of Brian Jack, Joshua Gordon, Nathanael Gordon, Kristian Jack, Jessyca Gordon Bortell, Natalie Gordon Hasbani, Ethan Jack, Kaitlyn Jack, Caleb Gordon, and Liam Gordon; with 16 great-grandchildren. She was the daughter of the late Charles Gottlieb and Ruth Sickler; sister of the late Marlene Barbusio; also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Graduated as salutatorian from Scott High School in North Braddock in 1949 and the University of Pittsburgh in 1970 after 21 years as a homemaker. Served as an elementary school teacher for 30 years before her retirement in the Penn Hills School District, after which she devoted the rest of her life to nurturing her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was a lifetime member of Faith Community Church in Penn Hills. Friends were received from 2 to 4 pm and 6 to 8 pm, Thursday, Sept. 25, at SOXMAN FUNERAL HOME LTD/ROTH CHAPEL, 7450 Saltsburg Road, Penn Hills, PA 15235. A funeral service was held at 10 a.m., Friday, September 26. Graveside service followed.
