Alyson Higdon Obituary

Alyson Brooke Higdon, 14, of McKeesport, died Thursday, March 6, 2014, in Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh of UPMC. She was born Dec. 30, 1999, in Monroeville, and was a daughter of Cindi L. (Tarsala) Higdon, of McKeesport, and the late Joseph Daniel Higdon, who died April 22, 2005. She was an 8th grade student at McKeesport Founders Hall Middle School and played on the Volleyball team. Alyson attended First Evangelical Free Church and was also a member of the Junior Bowling League at White Oak Bowl. In addition to her mother, she is survived by "The Triplets," Haylie, Caleb and Jonah Higdon, at home; grandparents, Rick and Sharon Tarsala, of McKeesport, Penny Higdon, of Mt. Oliver, Joseph (Nancy) Higdon, of Elizabeth Township; great-grandmother, Dolores Kehrer, of Mt. Oliver; great-grandfather, Daniel (Jan) Resavage, of Leesburg, Fla.; and aunts, uncles and cousins. In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her great-grandmother, Margaret Raymer. Friends are welcome noon to 4 and 6 to 9 p.m. Sunday, March 9, 2014, at the GILBERT FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATORY INC., 6028 Smithfield St., Boston, Elizabeth Township. Funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Monday, March 10, 2014, at First Evangelical Free Church, 4001 University Drive, McKeesport, PA 15132, with Pastor Kirk Albrecht officiating. Everyone please meet at the church. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alyson Higdon Memorial Trust, c/o First Commonwealth Bank, 1527 Lincoln Way, White Oak, PA 15131.
