Andrew Balazik Obituary

Andrew A. Balazik, 76, of Springdale, passed away Thursday, Dec. 31, 2015, at Good Samaritan Hospice, Cabot. He was born July 8, 1939, in New Kensington, to the late Andrew and Victoria Smalara Balazik, and lived most of his life in this area. Andy was a former store owner with Foodland in Penn Hills and later a manager with Giant Eagle. He was a graduate of Springdale High School, class of 1957. Survivors include his wife, Kathryn Jean Sample Balazik; daughters, Rhonda A. (Harold) Clever, of Creighton, and Jaci E. Dolhi, of Murrysville; and grandchildren, Gary (Rebakah) Caldwell, Candace L. Dolhi and Nicole V. Dolhi. He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Jeffrey Taylor; and a stepson, Mark Jacobs.
There will be no public visitation. A memorial service is planned for 10 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 7, 2016, at the Riverside Community Church, Oakmont. Burial will be private. Arrangements are being handled by the CHARLES B. JARVIE FUNERAL HOME INC., Springdale.
