Carol Bodamer Obituary

Carol A. (Vanek) Bodamer, 58, of Mt. Lebanon, passed away Monday, Aug. 19, 2013, after a courageous battle with cancer, surrounded by her loving family. She was the beloved wife for 37 years of Scott R. Bodamer; devoted mother of Christopher (Patricia), of Upper St. Clair, Brian (Shauna), of Mt. Lebanon, Jason (Kellie), of Mt. Lebanon, and Shannon Bodamer, of Boston, Mass.; loving "Grammy" of Brooke, Audrey, Colin, Grant and Drew; daughter of the late Frank and Josephine Vanek; sister of Francis, Marian Vanek (Dan Griffin), Paula Kingston, Michele Vanek, Matthew (Karin), Annette Vanek (Edward Durner) and the late Armand Vanek; and sister-in-law of Philomena. She is also survived by nieces and nephews. Carol graduated from Carlow College with her Bachelor of Science degree and was working towards her master's at Duquesne University. She was a board member of the American Case Management Association. Carol thoroughly enjoyed traveling, especially family vacations at the Outer Banks. Friends will be welcomed 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at LAUGHLIN MEMORIAL CHAPEL, 222 Washington Road, Mt. Lebanon. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10 a.m. Friday morning in Saint Bernard Church. Interment will be Private. If desired, the family suggests memorials be made to The Leukemia And Lymphoma Society, 333 East Carson St., Pittsburgh, PA 15219. http://www.laughlinfuneralhome.com.
