Daniel Quigley Obituary

Daniel L. "Quig" Quigley, 62, of Ross Township, formerly of Brighton Heights, entered Heaven Friday, Oct. 28, 2011, at his home after a three and a half year battle with brain cancer. He is survived by his beloved wife of 40 years, Lindsay (Garrity) Quigley; daughters, Allison (Rich) Hixon, Megan (Damion) Carey and Sarah Quigley; his son, Kevin; and grandchildren, Nicholas, Rachael, Natalie, Owen, Zachary and Lukas. Also surviving Dan are his sister, Catherine "Bits" Wain; and brothers, David (Ellie) and Thomas Quigley. Dan was the son of the late Edward and Isabelle (Isherwood) Quigley; and brother of the late Patricia, Kenneth (Laura), Donald (Claudia), Edward (Cathy) and Sandra Quigley. Dan was a 1967 graduate of North Catholic High School and served in the Army from 1969 to 1971, as a military policeman at Sandia Base, N.M. He worked for United Parcel Service for more than 28 years and retired in 2007. Friends received from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday and 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the T. B. DEVLIN FUNERAL HOME, 806 Perry Highway, North Hills. Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. Wednesday in St. Teresa of Avila Church, where he had been a long time parishioner. Dan had a strong desire to help the needy, and the family suggests that in lieu of flowers, a donation maybe made to Catholic Charities, 212 Ninth St., Pittsburgh, PA 15222.
