Donald Bryan Obituary

Donald "Pack" Bryan, 84, of Ben Avon, Saturday, Nov. 13, 2010. He was the beloved husband of Gayle Bauer and the late Mary Ann Bryan; loving father of Jay T. (Betina) Bryan and Scott D. (Aram) Bryan; very proud grandfather of Tyler, Conner, Samuel, Nathaniel and Alicia; brother of Barbara (Tom) Fox; and uncle of Barbara and John. Donald was born in New York City, attended Cornell and Columbia Universities and graduated from Rider University after serving in the Navy during World War II. His career was spent as a freelance writer and photo journalist and he taught public relations and marketing at CCAC. Pack was a member of the Indianapolis Motor Speedway Old Timers Club and attended 59 consecutive Indy 500 races. He also enjoyed trains, photography, travel and music with his father being a highly regarded trumpet player during the Big Band Era. He was also an active member in Community Presbyterian Church of Ben Avon. Friends will be received from 1 until the time of service at 3 p.m. Saturday in Community Presbyterian Church of Ben Avon. Arrangements are entrusted to ORION C. PINKERTON FUNERAL HOME INC., 1014 California Ave., Avalon, 412-766-5600. Interment will be held at a later date in Lehighton. In lieu of flowers, donations suggested to a charity of your choice.
