Helenmarie D. (Drake) Hohman, 79, of Richland Township, formerly of McCandless, died Friday Dec. 27, 2013. Born Aug. 1, 1934, in Farrell, she was a daughter of the late Mary (Simko) Drake. She was the loving wife of the late Eugene T. Hohman; beloved mother of David (Maureen) Hohman, of Illinois, and Nancy (Bob) White, of North Carolina; and proud grandmother of Colleen, Erin, Robert, Shannon and Emily. Helenmarie was a teacher for 32 years: 12 years at Northway Elementary, and 20 years at Peebles Elementary. After retiring, she continued volunteering as a storyteller in the classroom. She was an active member and volunteer at St. Richard Church and a dedicated volunteer at the Northland Library. She loved to go to Curves, traveling and spend winters in Fort Myers, Fla. Most importantly, she especially enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren, who absolutely worshipped her. She touched so many lives; she will be dearly missed. Friends will be welcomed at 2 to 8 p.m. Monday at SCHELLHAAS FUNERAL HOME LTD., 5864 Heckert Road, Bakerstown, PA 15007. Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday at St. Richard Church, 3841 Dickey Road, Gibsonia, PA 15044, with the Rev. Thomas A. Sparacino as celebrant. Interment is private.
