Jack Sittsamer

Jack Sittsamer, 83, of Squirrel Hill, a Holocaust survivor from Mielec, Poland, died Sunday, Oct. 26, 2008. He is the beloved father of Paula (Sanford) Riemer, of Squirrel Hill, and Murray Sittsamer, of West Bloomfield, Mich.; zeidy of Eric (Chava) Riemer, Danny (Meira) Riemer, Aliza Riemer, Lexie Sittsamer and Eden Sittsamer; proud papa zeidy of Eliana Riemer; son-in-law of Ruth Feldman, of Squirrel Hill; former husband of Maxine Sittsamer, of Squirrel Hill; best friend of Solange Lebovitz, of Squirrel Hill; and beloved uncle, cousin and friend to many. Mr. Sittsamer was an employee of Tyson Metal Producers for 36 years and was a member of Sheet Metal Union Local No. 12. He was also a member of the Oakland-Solomon Masonic Lodge. Friends will be received from 9 a.m. until the time of funeral service at 10 a.m. Tuesday in the chapel of the BURTON L. HIRSCH FUNERAL HOME INC., 2704 Murray Ave., Squirrel Hill, 412-521-2600. Interment to follow in Homestead Hebrew Cemetery.
