Jean Hamburg

Jean (Moser) Hamburg, 87, of Meadville, formerly of West View, passed away Monday, Jan. 27, 2014, at Westbury United Methodist Retirement Community in Meadville. Born June 11, 1926, in Pittsburgh, she was the daughter of the late George Albert and Martha S. (Parsons) Moser. She was the beloved wife of the late Earl W. Hamburg, who passed away Sept. 1, 2009. While living in the Pittsburgh area, Jean was a member at the Hiland Presbyterian Church. She then became a member at Watson's Run Presbyterian Church while living in Meadville. She was a life member of the Eastern Star, where she was a past Worthy Matron. For more than 60 years, she enjoyed playing in the 500 Card Club with her friends. She was an avid reader and golfer. She is survived by her daughter, Deborah H. (Paul) McKay, of St Charles, Ill.; son, David A. (Mary) Hamburg, of Woodbury, N.J.; and granddaughters, Audra Shannon McKay, of Illinois, and Grace Anna Hamburg, of New Jersey. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her son, Dale W. Hamburg. A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 8, 2014, at Hiland Presbyterian Church, 845 Perry Highway in Pittsburgh. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to KING FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATION SERVICES LLC, Allison Park.
