Joseph E. Blamick

1927 - 2016

Joseph E. Blamick, 89, of North Huntingdon, died Tuesday, Nov. 22, 2016. He was born July 12, 1927, in Port Vue, and was a son of the late Charles James and Hilda Marie Johnson Blamick. He was a member of Norwin Christian Church, Duquesne-McKeesport Lodge No. 731 F&AM, Zerubbabel-Duquesne Royal Arch Chapter No. 162, and was also a 50-year member of the Pittsburgh Commandery No. 1 Knights Templar. He was a member of the former McKeesport Lodge No. 641 F&AM. He was a volunteer for the Central Food Pantry in Elizabeth Township. In 2001, Joseph received the "Volunteer of the Year Award" from his Masonic Lodge. Joseph was a World War II and Korean War veteran, having served with the Navy. He is survived by his wife, Arlene Volk Blamick: daughter, Larae (Barney) Kearns, of Wilkins Township, and Ellen Jo (Tom) West, of Rostraver; son, Mark Douglas Blamick, of North Huntingdon; sisters, Kathryn Seitz and Vervaine Mains, of White Oak, and Elveria Johnson, of McKeesport; brother, Wesley (Carolyn) Blamick, of Tallahassee, Fla.; grandchildren, Jamie Arlene Blamick, Tucker Joseph West, Samuel Thomas West and Grace Anna West; and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by brothers, Robert and Charles Blamick; and sister, Jeannette Jeney.
Friends are welcome from 9:30 to 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 26, 2016, at Norwin Christian Church, where funeral service with a Masonic service and military honors service will be held at 11 a.m., with the Rev.
