Julia Patsolic Obituary

Julia Patsolic, 92 of Burgettstown, died Thursday, Nov. 21, 2013, in New Haven Court Senior Living, Greensburg. She was born Jan. 14, 1921, in Bertha Mine, a daughter of the late Steve and Pearl Grabania Roman. Prior to retirement, Mrs. Patsolic was employed at Colliers Steel in Weirton, W.Va. She was a member of St. John's Byzantine Catholic Church in Avella and was past president of its Altar Society. On July 13, 1942, she married Joseph Patsolic, who died in 2005. Surviving are her son, Joseph (Sandra) Patsolic, of Carlisle; daughter, Patricia (Floyd) Marshall, of Mt. Pleasant; her sister, Helen Ratkovich, of Burgettstown; grandchildren, Julia Marshall, Sean Marshall, Jessica Kepchar and Lindsay Gilliland; great-grandchildren, Hannah Marshall Ridge, Drew and Brandon Kepchar. Deceased are her brothers, John, Steve and Michael Roman; and sisters, Pearl Dellaria, Sophie Matchett and Mary Mays. Friends were received from 4 to 7 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 24, 2013 in the TAUCHER FUNERAL HOME, 23 Erie Mine Road, Burgettstown. Divine Liturgy will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Monday, Nov. 25, 2013, in St. John Byzantine Catholic Church, Avella, with the Rev. Ed Lucas, pastor, officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Alzheimer's Association, P.O. Box 96011, Washington, D.C. 20090.
