June Smith Obituary

June E. Smith, 70, of Pleasant Hills, died Sunday, June 13, 2004, at Jefferson Hills Regional Medical Center. Born Nov. 6, 1933, in Pleasant Hills, she was the daughter of the late George W. and Hazel (Hollin) Friend. She was a retired nurse's aide at Lawson's Nursing Home and Hearthstone Manor. She was also a member of Jefferson United Methodist Church in Jefferson Hills, a Clairton High School graduate and past matron and life member of Order of Eastern Star - Clairton 316. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William A. Smith. She is survived by her sons, Dale A. (Carla) Smith of West Mifflin and David A. (Sandra) Smith of Whitehall; brother, George A. "Buster" Friend of Pleasant Hills; three grandchildren, Alyssa, Ryan and Nicholas Smith; nieces and nephews, and great-nieces and -nephews. Friends received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the A.J. BEKAVAC FUNERAL HOME, 555 Fifth St., Clairton, where funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, with Pastor Douglas Heagy officiating. Eastern Star service at 7 p.m. Tuesday in the funeral home.
