Peter Suchy Obituary

Peter Suchy, 78, of Elizabeth Township, died Sunday, June 11, 2006, in Jefferson Regional Medical Center. He was born April 18, 1928, in Lincoln Borough, a son of the late Mike and Mary Yekenchek Suchy. He was a retired welder from U.S. Steel National Tube in McKeesport and a member of St. Michael Roman Catholic Church, Elizabeth Township. He was an Army veteran of the Korean War and a member of the American Legion, White Oak. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Kathleen Lanning Suchy; one daughter, Sherry (Ray) Shada, of Elizabeth Township; one son, Gary (Rosemary) Suchy, of Elizabeth Township; four grandchildren, Peter S. Suchy, Daniel Suchy, Raymond Shada Jr. and Kathleen Shada; and one brother, Amel Suchy, of Belle Vernon; and nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Christin Suchy. Friends received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the PAUL E. BEKAVAC FUNERAL HOME, 221 Second St., Elizabeth Borough. Funeral Mass at 10 a.m. Wednesday in St. Michael Church, Elizabeth Township, with the Rev. Rudolph Smoley officiating. Interment in Round Hill Cemetery, Elizabeth Township.
