Robert Johnston Obituary

Robert L. "Bob" Johnston, 52, of Buena Vista, died Sunday, Aug. 3, 2014, in UPMC Mercy Hospital, Pittsburgh. He was born Feb. 15, 1962, in Pittsburgh, and was the son of Jane Quinn Johnston, of West Mifflin, and the late Lloyd "Bud" Johnston. He was the after market parts manager at C. Harper Automotive, and was a member of the Moose Club and the Buena Vista Fire Company. Bob was an avid motorcycle rider. In addition to his mother, he is survived by his sons, Robby (fiance, Mary Smith) Johnston, of Buena Vista, and Aaron (Angela) Krznaric, of Indiana; his granddaughter, Gianna Krznaric, whom he adored, of Indiana; sisters, Pamela Haas, of Waynesburg, Patty Ziegler, of Washington, Mary Ellen Kudla, of Mt. Vernon, Sandy Ruccio, of Bethel Park, and Betsy Himler and Katie Scalzitti, of Greensburg; brother, Dan Johnston, of Lincoln Borough; aunt, Clare Miller, of Dravosburg; and nieces, nephews and cousins. Friends are welcome from 2 to 4 and 6 to 9 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 7, 2014, at the GILBERT FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATORY INC., 6028 Smithfield St., Boston, Elizabeth Township. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Friday, Aug. 8, 2014, at the St. Elizabeth of Hungary Catholic Church (Pleasant Hills), with the Rev. Dale DeNinno, officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in care of the family to defray medical costs. Condolences may be made at http://www.gilbertfuneralhomeandcrematory.com.
