Roger Oldaker Obituary

Roger Oldaker, 49, of Canonsburg, died suddenly Saturday, May 11, 2013. He was the son of Roger and Kathleen Oldaker; beloved husband of Tami (Tasillo) Oldaker; father of Brett, Blair and Bria; brother of Gregory Oldaker; and son-in-law of Ron and Mary Ann Tasillo. He is also survived by Dean and Cheri Weber; Greg and Michele Tasillo; nephews, Evan, Tyler and Blayne and niece, Hannah. Roger was vice president of sales for Dynamic Systems, a family business. He was very influential in the lives of young hockey players. His involvement in hockey dates back to his elementary school years and continued throughout high school and college. In addition to being a player, he also lent his time to coaching and refereeing. An avid sports fan, Roger enthusiastically cheered on the Penguins and the Steelers. He was an ever-present figure in the Canon McMillan hockey organization. He was known by many and loved by all. A viewing will be held from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday, at BEINHAUERS, 2828 Washington Road, McMurray, 724-941-3211. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10 a.m. Friday in St. Benedict the Abbot Church. Interment will follow in Queen of Heaven Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, family suggests memorial contributions may be made to Animal Friends, 562 Camp Horne Road, Pittsburgh, PA 15237 or to the Roger Oldaker, Jr. Memorial Hockey Scholarship Fund, Canon McMillan Hockey Association, 201 Hickory Circle, Canonsburg, PA 15317 (checks payable to Cannon McMillan Hockey Association).
