Tessie Martz Obituary

Tessie V. Martz, 81, of Saxonburg (Jefferson Twp.) died at 3 a.m. Sunday, March 6, 2005, in Fair Winds Manor Nursing Home, Winfield, where she was a resident since Sept. 2003.

Born Oct. 13, 1923, in Fawn Township, she lived most of her life in Tarentum.

Mrs. Martz was a homemaker. She was a member of Wesleyan Methodist Church, Tarentum. Mrs. Martz enjoyed sewing and crocheting.

Survivors include 3 sons, Kenneth and Nancy Martz Jr. of Tarentum, Richard and Gaye Martz of Smithton and Larry Martz of Harrison; 3 daughters, Mrs. Ellsworth (Shirley) Davison of Jefferson, Betty Ann Sinchak of New Kensington and Mrs. John (Violet) Miller of Tarentum; 20 grandchildren and 32 great-grandchildren; 2 brothers, Chester and June Hetrick of Tarentum and Albert Hetrick of Seattle, Wash.; and 2 sisters, Edith Weidenhoff and Kathleen Bertiloni, both of Lower Burrell.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Earl and Irene Confer Scholl; her husband, Kenneth Martz Sr., who died on June 22, 1967; a grandson, Tony Brozewicz; a brother, Irvin Scholl; and a sister, Hazel Mehal.

The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 & 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday in the KRYNICKI FUNERAL HOME INC., 1007 Freeport Road, Natrona Heights, where funeral services will take place at 11 a.m. Wednesday by the Rev. Bill Davis. Burial will be in Greenwood Memorial Park, Lower Burrell.
